Providence, RI — DeCotis Specialty Insurance is pleased to announce that Frank Moran Jr. has joined its Personal Lines Team as a Production Underwriter.
In this multifaceted role, Frank is responsible for driving submission flow, developing a pipeline for new business opportunities and continuing to build on DeCotis’ market presence across the North Shore, Western Massachusetts and Northern New England. Additionally, Frank will leverage his technical underwriting expertise to analyze complex exposures, propose rates and premiums and market difficult risks, ultimately ensuring that DeCotis’ agency partners always have access to competitive Personal Lines coverage for hard-to-place clients.
Frank reports directly to Jocelyn Dewey, Director of Personal Lines and Chief Underwriting Officer, who said: “With more than 15 years of industry experience, Frank is a tremendous asset to our Personal Lines team and the firm as a whole. He shares our commitment to cultivating strong relationships and delivering exceptional service. But what truly sets him apart is his unmatched enthusiasm for spending dedicated time in the field, educating and connecting with agency partners and supporting their clients’ specialty insurance needs.”
Frank’s insurance career began as a participant in GEICO’s prestigious Emerging Leaders Program, where he rotated through supervisory roles in various departments, including Sales, Customer Service, Planning, Underwriting, Claims and Auto Damage, gaining a broad perspective of the insurance industry. Most recently, Frank served as Territory Manager for Liberty Mutual/Safeco Insurance, where he successfully managed a large territory encompassing Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Maine, and was a four-time winner of Safeco’s Field Execution Award, given to the region’s top territory manager.
Speaking on his new role, Frank said: “This is a singular opportunity to join a team of talented and driven professionals that works hand in hand with agents to deliver creative solutions for complex problems. I look forward to bringing my energy and experience to both the firm and the field, building on my reputation as a ‘road warrior’ and serving as a reliable resource to help our partners keep and win business.”
Frank holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of South Carolina in political science and economics. He is also Green Belt Certified in Lean Six Sigma Methodology and has a Platinum I-Car Certification, the highest individual accreditation in the collision repair industry.
