HOW TO FILE A CLAIM

To streamline your experience, we’ve outlined the essential steps for reporting a claim to DeCotis Specialty Insurance and what to expect along the way. Review the Client’s Policy
Before submitting a claim, review the client's insurance policy to ensure compliance with specific reporting requirements. Some policies require written notice by certified mail, while others may allow email submission or direct reporting to the carrier.
Submit the Claim Notification
Send the claim notification and all supporting documents to claims@decotis.com.
• Property and General Liability policies:
Complete an ACORD Property or General Liability Claim Notification Form and include all relevant documentation.
• Professional Liability and other Non-Property and Casualty policies:
Refer to the client’s insurance policy for detailed reporting instructions and the carrier’s contact information.
What to Expect After Submission
Once we receive the claim notification, these are our next steps:
• DeCotis’s claims team will initiate the process, which may include notifying the carrier, requesting additional details, or assigning an adjuster.
• DeCotis or the carrier will send you (or the client) an acknowledgment within 24–48 hours. If you do not receive confirmation within this timeframe, please contact our office immediately.
